As the COVID-19 pandemic is still with us, travel plans are always up in the air. But that doesn’t mean a girl can’t dream! I’m planning to spend more time embarking on domestic travel, visiting my home country, the United States, which is actually a country I haven’t spent much time exploring beyond the Eastern Seaboard. I’m also still hopeful to travel internationally again once Omicron (and COVID in general) calms down.
Central Florida (Daytona Beach, Orlando, and Crystal River) in February

My husband is a big fan of NASCAR, so for his birthday, I gifted him a trip to Orlando and Daytona Beach to watch the opening races of the 2022 season. We’ll be spending 3 days between these cities and Crystal River to embark on a manatee snorkel tour in between race days! It’ll be a nice break from the New England winter and spending most of my winter quarantining and hibernating.
Long weekend in the Outer Banks, North Carolina in May

My husband’s work friends are getting married in the Outer Banks in May, so what better way than to plan for a long weekend getaway! I’m hoping we’ll extend our stay to a long weekend to spend some time at the beach, watch the wild horses, and try an extreme sport, such as kiteboarding in Cape Hatteras or hang gliding in Nags Head!
Medellín, Colombia in September

I love visiting Latin American countries and Colombia has been on my mind lately. It’s a country that has gone through a complete 180 in regards to its reputation. Medellín is known as the city of eternal spring and went from being the murder capital of the world to a hipster’s and nomad’s paradise. I’d love to visit during my birthday in September to experience the food and culture (and practice my Spanish!).
Ireland anniversary trip in October

October will be our 10 year relationship anniversary between me and my husband (married for 4 years), so we’ve been thinking about planning a special trip to celebrate this time (COVID depending of course). My husband has been itching to experience Ireland, which is a country I haven’t been to yet. Fingers crossed it will be safer to visit and experience this beautiful country via road trip.
Mexico City foodie trip in November with FTLO Travel

Even though I consider myself to be a little bit of a picky eater, I also really love food, especially Hispanic food. Having traveled with FTLO Travel before, I thought it might be a fun adventure to eat my way across Mexico City.
From gourmet restaurants to bustling street food markets, I’m hoping to fill my belly and soul with sampling the flavors of Mexico.
