New Blog Alert! The Unlikely Athlete

Hello fellow blog community! It’s been a while since I’ve been traveling and focusing on the blog. But that’s because I’ve started focusing my energy on tackling my next adventure: major athletic achievements as a “less than average” athletic person! I completed my first half marathon about two weeks ago and I’m considering signing up for my first triathlon for next spring.

As both of my local and international adventures have slowly become more active, I’ve decide to create an additional blog to share my stories and tips around these experiences: The Unlikely Athlete, to show that anyone can complete a fitness challenge, no matter how big or small. I’ll still be writing Lady Red Travel, but hope you will also join me on this next adventure! Stay tuned for more to come!

I'm a small town girl who grew up in the White Mountains of New Hampshire. I love writing, rock music, and, well, traveling of course! I'm an aspiring travel blogger who started traveling internationally later in life at 21. So far, I've been to 15 countries and 6 out of 7 continents, with my goal to explore Antarctica at some point! When I'm not traveling abroad, I enjoy exploring locally throughout New England, going to concerts, trying new vegetarian cuisine, and spending time with my lovely husband, our precious beagle mix Sophie, and our beloved cats, Moose and Heidi.

  1. Congrats on the half marathon, I’ve done several duathlons and triathlons (usually sprint distances) but my knees won’t tolerate long distance running. I hope you sign up for the triathlon. It’ll be great!

      1. Good luck with it. While competing in each tri/du I’m always in agony and desperate to just be finished, but then, after crossing the finish line and getting my breath back, I’m like, “When’s the next one!” Weird.
